Mayllan, a Chestnut daughter of Malinas made her debut for Alan king in a Mares NHF race at Uttoxeter and ran an excellent debut, I was there that night and I saw her in the paddock and the 4yo filly struck me as a horse who has some growing to do, she was green in the paddock and in the race, it struck me that she would come on for the run.

Well, she ran to script except that she ran a blinder despite running green and will almost certainly put on a better show today, but as fav at 6/5?  Not for me.

I think she is a filly that will go on improving and may well thrive through the Autumn given the experiance she is getting now, but she isnt a 6/5 shot in this race due to the presence of Getaway Honey who has won a point in Ireland at Loughanmore.

I have watched that race a couple of times and the filly isnt short of speed and showed the kind of pace to make me think she could have the speed to win a NHF.

Sold for 16k and sent to the excellent David Dennis, Brian Hughes took the ride at Worcester in her debut NHF race ( Derek O'Connor rode her in her points which says something about the filly). She gave the more experianced Skin Deep a really good race rallying back in the last furlong and forcing Skin Deep to up her game to seal the race.

Brian Hughes retains the ride today which is a major plus in my opinion

In essence there probably isnt a great deal between the two of them, but in the markets, it is my opinion they should be the other way round and given the point form plus the excellent Worcester run, my feeling is Getaway Honey is a bit further forward than Maylan and at BP 7/4 am going for a 1pt win
