Another low grade handicap, however, a quick perusal of the form surrounding 3/1 shot Castle Howard is impressive to say the least.

This JP McManus owned horse made his handicap debut , ridden by JJ Slevin, at Down Royal (Barry Geraghty takes the ride tonight) and finished a very creditable 3rd behind Roi De Dubai who next time out was leading by 3 lengths before being brought down in the race won by Running in Heels, our selection in a previous race.

The second horse in the race, Viking Hoard, was upped in trip next time out and was beaten into 3rd only 2 lengths off the winner. However, returned to 20f next time out in a handicap hurdle, the 4yo won by an impressive 15 lengths.

The Fourth horse home in the race was the Gordon Elliott trained, Mill Quest, who won his next two races with some ease and finished 3rd last time out, improving some 19lb since finishing behind Castle Howard.

I am not saying for a second that with form lines like that he is a certainty, it still is after all a low grade mid summer handicap. When you factor all this in to the price, taking into account the form of the other runners, I make him a 2/1 fav, so BP 11/4 at the time of writing warrants a 1pt win on Castle Howard
